Hareloom
The Cotswold March Hare Trail was a series of 80 beautiful pieces of art that were displayed in and around Cirencester and the Cotswolds from 25th of March 2017.
My design ‘Hareloom’ celebrates the history of the woollen mills in Nailsworth and the Stroud Valley. It is also a clever play on words as my sponsor, the Nailsworth Mill Estate, had been handed down through the generations and is also a ‘heirloom’ so to speak. Hareloom, takes it’s inspiration from the mills in the area, namely Ruskin, Days, Dunkirk and Egypt, the sheep farming that served the mills, plus the surrounding picturesque countryside.
‘Hareloom’ was situated in Nailsworth, a village near Stroud, on George Street.
Here’s a short time-lapse film of me painting my hare.
